Questions for week November 24th - 30th

The G.Q. – Gratitude Quotient

1) Just for fun: What are your plans for Thanksgiving? 
(If you are life group is meeting after Thanksgiving) What did you do for Thanksgiving this year?

2) Is there someone you know who has legitimate reasons to be bitter and miserable and yet they aren’t? How has their attitude affected you?

3) Do you know someone who has seemingly “everything” yet they seem to be grateful for nothing? How has their attitude affected you?

4) Luke 6:45 says, “What you say flows from what’s in your heart.” Based on this verse would you say that your words reflect a heart of gratitude or ungratefulness?

5) 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”  Why do you think God told us to be thankful? How does this verse make you feel when your circumstances are quite ugly?

6) As we move through this week of Thanksgiving, what are some of the things that you will be most grateful for?

Questions for week November 10th - 16th

Conspiracy of Kindness

1) Just for Fun: What food dish do you look forward to enjoying the most at Thanksgiving?  

2) Last week learned about Choosing Worship.  Was there a time last week that you were able to put this into practice?

3) Pastor Mark shared the story about Herbert Hoover and how in Finland, to Hoover means to be kind or to offer assistance and support, to be benevolent. If people were to make a verb out of your last name, what would you want it’s definition to be?

4) Who is the most generous person you know in the world today? Why would you describe them in this way?

5) Most people say that if they win the lottery they will be more generous but statistically this just isn’t true. Why do you think so?

6) What idea, phrase, scripture, or story from Sunday’s message has changed your understanding of generosity? In what way has your understanding been changed?

7) What is something you can do this next week to plant Gospel seeds?

Questions for week Nov 3rd - 9th

Choose Worship

1) Just for fun: Share with everyone the best thing that happened to you this past week.

2) How do you think most people define worship?  How would you define worship?

3) Who do you know that can find something good to focus on even in the worst of circumstances?  Who do you know that can find something bad to focus on in the best of circumstances?  Which one of the people you mentioned do find has the best relationships with God, family, and friends?  What can we learn from this and how can we apply that knowledge remembering that Worshippers can always find something to praise God about and Complainers can always find something to be down about?

4) When Paul and Silas worshiped, it not only changed their attitude, it changed their circumstances.  Can you name a time in your life where either your attitude, or attitude and circumstances, were changed due to your worship?

5) How can you incorporate more worship into you life this next week?
