I Love My Church
Love People
Luke 10:25-37
1) Just for Fun: Give everyone a sheet of paper and have them pair up and write down as many songs with the word “Love” in the title that they can come up with. And if you could not think of any, click here to see 565 of them. Also, you may want to give some chocolate to the ones who named the most songs.
Read Luke 10:25-37
2) Why do you think Jesus chose to include a priest, a Levite,
and a Samaritan as characters in this story?
3) Reread verse 29. What do you think is the real question
the Jewish lawyer was asking? The Jewish
lawyer wanted to do only what he had to do when it came to loving people. Have
you ever found yourself doing the same? Why do you think we have a tendency at
times to give our least to those in need of it the most?
4) What natural motivations make it more easy to act like
the priest and the Levite than like the Samaritan?
5) How practical was the Samaritan’s approach to the man in
need? Do you have a tendency to over complicate Loving People?
6) Compassion moved the Good Samaritan to action. What
things are you compassionate about that move you to action?
7) If you have a Good Samaritan story in your life, (where you
have been blessed by a Good Samaritan or you have been a Good Samaritan), share
your story with your life group.
