Questions for week June 23rd - 29th

1) Just for fun: As a child, what were you most afraid of?

2) Pastor Mark talked about how we often do many things in life never realizing why we do them. He gave the example of the daughter cutting the edges off the roast. Come to find out, she did it because here mom and grandmother did it. Is there anything you can think of that you or someone else does not really knowing why you do it?

3) The first thing we are encouraged to do before taking communion is to look inward at ourselves. As you do this and examine your heart, where are you in your spiritual walk with God? Do you feel as close as you have ever been, or do you feel you have become distant from God?  What has led to either of these two in your life?

4) The Bible tells us that Jesus IS coming back again.  What are some of the things you are looking forward to when this happens (Ex: see loved ones, no more sickness, etc.)?

Questions for week June 16th - 22nd

The Power of Being Second

1) For fun, what city, state and hospital were you born in and is there anything interesting about that city, state or hospital?  (Example: Pastor Mark was born in Pahokee, FL. Country singer Mel Tillis was born there too.)

2) Are you a competitive person?  If you are, what area does it show up in the most (sports, career, etc)?

3) Sampson had conquered everything and everyone but himself and there were three attitudes that made him weak.  The first one was lust which says I want it. Was there a time in your life where you lusted for something and put it first before God (Career, your kids, relationships, material things, etc) and how did you overcome those desires to put God first?

4) The second attitude was entitlement that says I deserve it. Have you ever dealt with anyone who has this attitude?  Why do feel they thought they deserved what they wanted?  Have you ever been that person who felt they were entitled?

5) The last attitude was pride that says I can handle it.  Read 1 Corinthians 10:12-13
Has there ever been something in your life, or the life of someone close to you, that you/they thought you/they could handle?  How did it turn out?  What lessons did you or they learn from it?
