Questions for week Dec 15th - 21st

Christmas BC
Everlasting Father

If you have not met since Christmas BC began, you can click here and go through the questions for Wonderful Counselor as well as the ones below.

1) What are some of your Christmas Traditions (past or present)?  Do you have any Traditions that you would like to start?

2) As a small group, read Isaiah 9:6. Out of all of the things we tend to want from life in general and God in particular, why do you think He specifically gave us an “Everlasting Father”?  What does this name tell us about the character of God?

3) Oftentimes how we view our earthly father is how we also tend to view God our Heavenly Father. What are some common ways people tend to do this?  How has your view of your father affected your view of God?

4) Share about a time in your life when God was more than God to you, he was a Father to you.

This week, pray specifically for any group members who are in need of an Everlasting Father. Pray that this Christmas they will experience God’s love, peace and healing in a new and life-changing way.

Spend some time reflecting upon all the things that God did in your group and in your individual member’s lives in 20013. Celebrate God’s everlasting love!

Christmas BC
Wonderful Counselor

1) Just for fun: Who is done with all their Christmas shopping?  Who ends up waiting until the last minute to purchase their gifts?

2) What are some of the oddest names you have ever heard of?  As you can tell, our names matter.  Is there any significance to your name (were you named after someone, etc.)?

3) What is the best way you prepare your heart and mind for the Christmas Season?

4) Even though we already know that God already knows everything, why do you think we find it difficult to be honest with Him and try to hide our sin or distrust from Him?  Has God ever made you feel unloved because of your past?  Then how can we move from hiding to confiding in him?

5) How do you best hear from God (through reading his word, hearing that still small voice, through others conversations with you, etc.)?

6) Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor, in what way can we be a wonderful counselor to someone else this Christmas Season?
